Dr. Rachael Johnson grew up in Oswego, New York. She completed her B.S. degree in Biology in 1995 from Swarthmore College. After time off from her studies to work and
travel, Dr. Johnson returned to Philadelphia to obtain her veterinary degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.
Upon graduation, she moved to Miami, Florida where she has practiced general and emergency medicine for over 20 years at a prominent Miami Beach wellness and urgent care clinic, honing her knowledge, skills, and reputation first as an associate veterinarian, and since
2019, as medical director.
Dr. Johnson developed a love for veterinary medicine after completing her undergraduate degree. Needing veterinary experience for an internship at a wildlife rescue center, she worked
in the office of a large animal clinic in Upstate New York. It was then that her true love of medicine and passion for working with animals took shape.
While completing her veterinary degree, Dr. Johnson realized her passion was in caring for companion animals and has been happily taking care of dogs and cats in small animal practice ever since.
Dr. Johnson’s family includes two dogs, (Delilah and Peter Jacob), a cat (Hannah aka Ivy aka Kitten), husband (Alvaro), daughter (Micaela), and son (Mateo).
