Meet Our Medical Director
![medical-director_result](https://royalvet.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/medical-director_result.webp)
Dr. Cristina Maristany was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She completed her B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Miami and later obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 2007.
Ever since she was a little girl, Dr. Maristany knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. This determination and passion for animals inspired her to work hard and pursue her life long dream.
Dr. Maristany spent over 15 years at one of Miami’s most well-known animal clinics providing both general care as well as emergency medicine. Throughout her time there, she served as medical director for over three years providing her expertise and leadership especially during the challenging times of COVID in 2020.
Aside from practicing traditional medicine she also utilizes alternative treatment options such as acupuncture. This holistic approach allows the patients to receive a more comprehensive treatment when needed. She is also USDA certified to provide health certificates for travel.
Dr. Maristany enjoys spending free time with her three girls (AC, Alicia and Andrea), husband Carlos, two dogs (Duke and Charley) and two cats (Edward and Bruno).
