
Dr. Allison Cannon is board certified in Small Animal Internal Medicine and has been practicing since 2008. She enjoys treating diseases in which medical therapy allows for a return to a normal quality of life, such as Addison’s disease, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and diabetes mellitus. She also finds it gratifying to provide solutions for more complex cases that require managing multiple diseases concurrently.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Dr. Cannon received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville. She went on to complete an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, followed by a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Small Animal Internal Medicine).
Outside of work, Dr. Cannon has a lifelong love of horses and enjoys riding hunter and dressage. She and her husband share their home with a large and lively family of pets, including cats Luna, Eileen, Shitter, and Gru; pit bull Dottie; rat terrier Stitch; and horses Zen, Phoebe, Rosemary, and Candy.
