Dr. Owens received her BA degree from Princeton University in 2002, graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, followed by an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Owens worked at various specialty clinics throughout South Florida before joining and anchoring VCA’s Alton Road Animal Hospital in 2014, where she built an impressive reputation and following in the area.
Dr. Simon Czamanski was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela and moved to the United States at a young age. He attended high school in Weston, Florida and then moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where he attended Colorado State University (CSU). Dr. Czamanski received a bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, a minor in business administration, and a doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Czamanski grew up surrounded by animals, but his passion for veterinary medicine really developed while volunteering at a local animal hospital in Weston, FL. He started in the kennel department cleaning cages and walking dogs, worked his way up to being a veterinary assistant, and ultimately decided that he wanted to pursue a veterinary degree. Dr. Czamanski has worked at multiple veterinary practices across South Florida, further allowing him to gain experience in general practice, surgery, and emergency veterinary medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Czamanski likes to spend time with his family and friends, go to the beach, cook and travel. He’s a foodie at heart and has a special interest in wine and art. One of his favorite quotes is “Animals make us human” by Dr. Temple Grandin.
Dr. Rachael Johnson grew up in Oswego, New York. She completed her B.S. degree in Biology in 1995 from Swarthmore College. After time off from her studies to work and
travel, Dr. Johnson returned to Philadelphia to obtain her veterinary degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.
Upon graduation, she moved to Miami, Florida where she has practiced general and emergency medicine for over 20 years at a prominent Miami Beach wellness and urgent care clinic, honing her knowledge, skills, and reputation first as an associate veterinarian, and since
2019, as medical director.
Dr. Johnson developed a love for veterinary medicine after completing her undergraduate degree. Needing veterinary experience for an internship at a wildlife rescue center, she worked
in the office of a large animal clinic in Upstate New York. It was then that her true love of medicine and passion for working with animals took shape.
While completing her veterinary degree, Dr. Johnson realized her passion was in caring for companion animals and has been happily taking care of dogs and cats in small animal practice ever since.
Dr. Johnson’s family includes two dogs, (Delilah and Peter Jacob), a cat (Hannah aka Ivy aka Kitten), husband (Alvaro), daughter (Micaela), and son (Mateo).
Dr. Cristina Maristany was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She completed her B.S. degree in Biology at the University of Miami and later obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Florida in 2007.
Ever since she was a little girl, Dr. Maristany knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. This determination and passion for animals inspired her to work hard and pursue her life long dream.
Dr. Maristany spent over 15 years at one of Miami’s most well-known animal clinics providing both general care as well as emergency medicine. Throughout her time there, she served as medical director for over three years providing her expertise and leadership especially during the challenging times of COVID in 2020.
Aside from practicing traditional medicine she also utilizes alternative treatment options such as acupuncture. This holistic approach allows the patients to receive a more comprehensive treatment when needed. She is also USDA certified to provide health certificates for travel.</br
Dr. Maristany enjoys spending free time with her three girls (AC, Alicia and Andrea), husband Carlos, two dogs (Duke and Charley) and two cats (Edward and Bruno).
